Early Career

Early in his career Raymond Kursar achieved great success and critical acclaim in the editorial & publishing arts. His illustrations appeared in nearly every leading magazine of our time, such as Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping Magazine, Readers Digest, National Lampoon Magazine. Raymond illustrated hundreds of romance novel covers for book publishers such as Bantam Books, Ace Books, Random House, Pocket Books, Avon, Fawcett, Ballantine, Doubleday and Charles Scribner & Sons. 

New York City Theater Posters Art

Raymond Kursar illustrated Theater Posters for Shakespeare in the Park and created Events Poster Art for numerous New York Broadway Plays including, Grease, Hello Dolly, City of Angles, The Good Doctor, That Championship Season, and Legend to name just a few. These wonderful posters were displayed on Broadway Theaters in New York City. Kursar and was commissioned to create artwork for the entertainment industry giants and also commissioned by special request to create music album covers for classical Guitarist Andre Segovia, and the Great Jazz musician Louis Armstrong.

Additionally, Kursar also created art posters for both the Big Apple Circus and the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. He created Broadway Theater posters for the producer Joseph Papp and producer writer Neil Simon and for the famous magician Harry Blackstone Jr.

Fine Collectable Plates & Canvas Prints

Raymond Kursar’s collector plate art is currently housed in the Bradford Exchange Collectors Plate Museum in Niles, Illinois, Chicago. His newest and latest “The Collectors’ Edition” which features 4 canvas prints depicting the “Gone with the Wind” movie classic, which was first presented at the Atlanta Décor Expo show.
